Working in concert with a national staffing provider, TempWorks Software announced today the release of a new Applicant Portal that streamlines the job seeker experience, reduces drop-off rates and assures that top candidates get a highly favorable impression from the get go.

Ever since online recruiting was introduced in the 1990s, career sites have almost systematically turned away the best candidates because of poor user interfaces.  Sluggish response times, software bugs and lack of integration with the organization’s brand often caused the career site or job board to do more damage than good.

Today, staffing software provider TempWorks introduced an online Applicant Portal product that it says solves those problems.  Built with the very best and latest of internet technologies like jQuery, JSON and MVC, the facility gives the speed and attractiveness necessary to entice the best candidates to complete the application process.

The product comes delivered with two languages installed, Spanish and English.  Additional languages can be added since the JSON technology gives the hiring organization complete flexibility with the look and feel.

The product also addresses the common career site problem of attracting large numbers of unqualified candidates.  Applicant Portal does this by providing a built-in questionnaire system that helps screen out unsuitable candidates without wasting the time of recruiters, HR and hiring managers.  You can fully customize the questions and answers and easily randomize them.  The screening facility can also be set up such that applicants can be rejected and prevent them from completing the process.

The vector graphics make the user interface look crisp on everything – iPad, Android, Mac or PC desktop.  -- David DourgarianTempWorks President, David Dourgarian

The look and feel of the product stands out because of the core web technologies used.  A default implementation uses vector graphics that look crisp no matter what resolution the end-user is using.  Other interface advances include:

  • Rounded corners and Drop-shadows
  • Informational tooltips that fade in and out based on user interaction
  • Field by field tooltips that show the user where they are in the application
  • Cross browser compatibility with all of the above technologies

The result is a clean and simple, yet polished and easy to use, interface that can be customized by website designers.
