This last week Tempworks unveiled its WPF-based Enterprise staffing software product at the American Staffing Association conference in San Antonio.
But the hit of the show was a keynote by Erik Weihenmayer, the blind guy who climbed Mount Everest, about overcoming your fears and not letting people keep you down. It hit me pretty hard to see what he has done in the face of adversity. For a long time I’ve let my fear of flying keep me grounded, and he made me realize just how pitiful and irrational that is.
He peppered his talk with a clever use of ‘positive pessismisms’ like: “This chasm we’re crossing sure is long, but at least the wind is blowing hard.” Check out his book.
