Christian Schirnhofer, 44, allegedly stole more than $24,211 from a Houston-based company that places physicians on temporary assignments. According to court documents, Schirnhofer changed account and routing numbers on checks that were to be paid to physicians so that the checks went to a business bank account he had set up. Between Feb. 1, 2011, and April 8, Schirnhofer allegedly wrote 11 checks to himself, affecting payments to six doctors, according to a complaint filed by the Harris County District Attorney’s office.
