Recession Fears Slam UK Staffing Stocks

UK staffing stocks fell sharply in the last three months despite strong earnings and revenue growth. Turnover (British for ‘Sales’) increased 38% in the 4th quarter of 2008 for Michael Page, not bad but not enough to keep its stock from falling some 50% during that same period. A robust job market has done nothing to stem the crash as the Office for National Statistics reports the fastest increase in employment in 11 years according to the Financial Times.
