Most of the time the news that hits my inbox is bad. This morning, however, I received a friendly email about a nice little program called Project Prom. Frankly, it was a breath of fresh air.
The project is orchestrated by One Simple Wish in New Jersey. The mission is to provide prom dresses, jewelry and shoes to girls whose families might not be able to afford them on their own. Joulé Staffing Solutions contributed by collecting and donating 45 prom dresses to the cause.
It’s not a $100,000 donation to a children’s hospital, but it’s still a thoughtful gesture.

OVER 45 PROM GOWNS, JEWELRY AND SHOES COLLECTED FOR GIRLS IN NEED
Joulé Staffing Solutions Supports One Simple Wish’s Project Prom through Generous Donation
TRENTON, N.J. – March 29, 2012 – Many local girls will fulfill their dream of feeling like a princess at prom thanks to Joulé Staffing Solutions and One Simple Wish’s Project Prom. Joulé solicited support from their clients and branches throughout New Jersey for donations of prom gowns, shoes and jewelry.
Over 45 gowns and prom accessories were collected and donated to One Simple Wish, a NJ based nonprofit organization that grants wishes to foster children and impoverished families, for Project Prom. The prom apparel is available at no cost to hundreds of less fortunate students within the Mercer County community at Project Prom’s Wish Shop in Trenton throughout April.
The Wish Shop is made possible by community support like Joulé’s donation of prom items. Project Prom is an annual program with over 500 new and gently worn dresses distributed each year, and 300‐500 girls estimated to visit the shop this spring. “Prom is an exciting and important event in a teen’s life. Giving them the opportunity to have a true shopping experience and providing the essential items for girls that may not have gotten the opportunity otherwise is truly rewarding,” said Morgan Caldwell, One Simple Wish Project Coordinator.
The Wish Shop opens on April 2, 2012 at 2pm and is located at 360 South Broad Street in Trenton, NJ. The shop will have walk‐in hours from April 2nd to the 28th, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2‐7pm, Saturdays and Sundays from 10am‐2pm.
The shop is open to girls who are a part of One Simple Wish’s community partner organizations. The general public can purchase dresses for $10 to $20. For more information, contact Morgan at 609‐883‐8484 or morgan@onesimplewish.org.
Joulé’s support of One Simple Wish is just one effort in the Joulé Gives Back program, a year‐round outreach initiative that focuses on giving back to the community. The program includes ongoing projects, most recently working with the National Guard transition team in Bordentown to match NJ veterans and their families with employment opportunities.
In addition, Joulé supports a local group’s charity effort each quarter, including organizations like Saint Peter’s Orphanage in Denville.
