Are you finding a gap between the true, current market value of a candidate, and what your client, or company, is willing to pay? Is the hiring process taking so long the really good candidates are long gone?

The Minnesota Recruiting and Staffing Association recently held its 3rd annual Job Summit. Following a panel discussion she moderated with HR representatives from some large employers, I had the chance to speak with Marni Hockenberg, principal at Hockenberg Search in Minneapolis. With more than two decades of recruiting and business consulting experience, she has provided focused, personalized search services to small and medium-sized businesses to help them find, recruit, and retain top-tier talent.

I asked her about the job summit, and then talked about managing expectations on all sides as the job market and the competition for talent begins to tighten.
