Paradigm Paralysis in HR Technology

Dr. John Sullivan writes some great essays on HR like this one at www.ere.net.

I do have a couple criticism of his essay despite it being as usual a great piece of writing. First, he uses ‘staffing business’ as a close synonym for HR, which is very wrong in general and very wrong when it comes to discussion about technology. Second, he underplays the importance of payroll (the most interesting part of HR for employees…it is after all what they need to pay the rent). Third, and finally, he finishes up the second part of this particular essay by suggesting the organizations get an expert and look at developing their own … sounds like letting the fox in the hen house to me.
