According to Wired magazine, it's game on for the Hyperloop, the pipe dream of high-speed rail.

But it seems all the conversation is about going cross-country or from San Francisco to Los Angeles or, as in the case described in the article, from nowhere to nowhere, which is the best way I can describe central California, having made the painfully boring highway 5 drive a dozen or so times.

How about a Hyperloop for local commuting?   How would it feel to turn your hour long commute downtown into a couple minute affair?
