We just got an email from Gregg’s brother, Mike Dourgarian, a former staffing business owner who lives out in California, alerting us to the newest tragedy in the staffing industry:
Local media outlets are reporting that 26-year-old temp worker David Eleidjian was crushed in a machine at a Northern California manufacturing plant Monday. An OSHA spokeswoman reportedly told the media that Eleidjian was rushed to the hospital, where doctors performed an emergency amputation of his legs, but he ultimately died late Monday afternoon from the incident.
The factory where David worked, Henkel Corp., is a Germany-headquartered operation that makes adhesives. He was placed at that job on a temporary basis by Tennessee-based HR Comp LLC. Both businesses will be subject to an OSHA investigation that could take up to six months to complete.
